Drunk is NOT Consent

Pre-Production;
Sketches and Research

I chose this topic because in March 2021, the Minnesota Supreme Court overturned a sex crime conviction because the victim was voluntarily intoxicated. This does not sit right with me and many other people throughout the state.

Before moving forward with this project, I wanted to make sure I knew the details of this case. With a topic as sensitive as this, it is important to be well informed. Below are just two of the sources I used.

I decided on sewing a garment and going into UMD Shoot studio to photograph it.

Pre-Production;
Process and Construction

I decided to assemble the leotard myself by sewing and using an iron on material. I chose the font DIN Alternate for the type because it is simple. My goal with this project was to draw attention to the message and less to a decorative font.

One setback I faced was that the leotard did not end up fitting my original model. Luckily, it fit one of my friends perfectly and she did great as my model.
